Tomorrow is Pancake Tuesday

When I was here as an undergrad, it took me the longest time to believe my British friends when they tried to convince me that 'Pancake Tuesday' was a real holiday. Actually, Pancake Tuesday is just the British Fat Tuesday, but everyone eats pancakes (?? alright...). Naturally, when the day came two years ago, we had an English vs. American pancake competition on D Floor...and even more naturally, no verdict was reached as those involved were two Brits and two Americans. Not sure that there will be any such competitions this year, but there will be pancake eating at least.

Things have definitely been busy here recently, but I'm finally starting to strike a good balance between work and play. I had crazy amounts of work kick in last week, but I *think* I'm starting to find a routine that works. And this morning I went to a postgrad seminar thing about networking skills, which was pretty cool. The woman presenting was very chatty and charismatic, and there were only 6 of us in the seminar, so it was fun (and they gave us food!). This weekend I spent lots of time going out with other postgrads, which was a slight change of pace from undergrad socializing I feel, and I really enjoyed it, putting me in a happy place. And while I had planned/hoped that I would be settling down this week, it seems my schedule has taken off yet again...I should not be surprised...but I am? At least I have tonight to catch my breath.
